Women's Studies
The Division of Continuing Studies offers the Bachelor of General Studies
degree with an area of concentration in women's studies.
Required:
The concentration consists of a minimum of thirty semester hours of approved courses from the women's studies curriculum.

Additional information:
Fifteen of the twenty-one elective hours must be upper division courses approved in Women’s Studies. Students must select only courses taught by faculty members designated as Women’s Studies Faculty.

Career Information:
An area of concentration in women’s studies examines the historical and contemporary status of women in all societies, explores the diverse contributions and voices of women past and present, advocates for women’s issues, and promotes equitable communities. Women’s studies students often use the tools of history, economics, science, politics, health, art and other disciplines to study the lives of women. Women’s studies is a versatile major and will help develop skills and understanding useful in a variety of settings. The degree will also provide the necessary knowledge to pursue an advanced degree, if desired. A degree in women’s studies may lead to careers in government or nonprofit organizations, human resources, education, research, human/social services, business management, public relations, advertising, journalism, law, politics, counseling, customer services, and marketing.
