Bachelor of General Studies Area of Concentration

Latino/Latin American Studies

The Division of Continuing Studies offers the Bachelor of General Studies degree with an area of concentration in Latino/Latin American Studies.

30 hours from the approved Latino/Latin American Studies course list. A minimum of 9 credits must be upper division. No more than 9 credits will be accepted per department (with the exception of LLS courses).

Career Information:
An area of concentration in Latino/Latin American studies covers the historical, political, economical, social, and cultural heritage of Latino or Latin American descent. Latino/Latin American studies is a versatile major and will develop skills and understanding useful in many career disciplines. Graduates from Latino/Latin American studies programs have found careers with the U.S. Foreign Service or other government agencies, as well as with companies with business interests in Latin America. They may also find careers in journalism, anthropology, art, education, research, public relations, law, civil rights, community and cultural affairs, politics, human resources, sociology, psychology, and nonprofit organizations.
