Bachelor of General Studies Area of Concentration

Geography

The Division of Continuing Studies offers the Bachelor of General Studies degree with an area of concentration in geography.

There may be flexibility in choosing 30 semester hours in Geography, but the Geography department recommends one of the following tracks:

Track I: Physical and Human Study

Track II: Regional Study

Track II: Techniques

Career Information:
An area of concentration in geography offers students the opportunity to take courses in a variety of areas in the field of geography, including environmental, cultural/human, economic, physical, or geographic information systems. It will also provide the necessary knowledge to pursue an advanced degree, if desired. Depending on the coursework taken, students may use this degree to pursue careers in environmental regulation, travel and tourism, transportation, real estate, demography, cartography, planning, education, research, utilities, and government administration.
