The Division of Continuing Studies offers the Bachelor of General Studies degree with an area of concentration in French.

Required:

FREN 1110-1120	Elementary French	10 hrs
FREN 2110-2120	Intermediate French	6 hrs
FREN 3030	French Conversation	3 hrs
FREN 3040	French Grammar and Composition	3 hrs
FREN 3370	French Civilization	3 hrs
	Upper Division French electives	8 hrs

Additional Information:

Students with transfer credit in French must take the French placement exam to determine where they should start in the French language sequence.

Students MUST be able to attend day classes in order to complete this area of concentration.

Career Information:
An area of concentration in French focuses on the language, literature, history, and culture of French-speaking people. The ability to speak another language fluently can be an asset in today’s global work environment. It will also provide the necessary knowledge to pursue an advanced degree, if desired. Foreign language students may find careers in government or non-profit administration, linguistics, foreign service, publishing/editing, banking/finance, sales, imports/exports, health services, immigration, customs, law enforcement, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, translation, customer services, education, research, tourism, social work, cultural affairs, advertising, and international business.
