An area of concentration in art will prepare students for careers in fine arts, studio art, or art history. It will also provide the necessary knowledge to pursue an advanced degree, if desired. Those who focus in art history will achieve a well-rounded understanding of art in the context of social, political, and intellectual cultures. Those who focus in fine or studio art will get a foundation from which they can build their careers as practicing artists or enter other art-related fields. Art students may find careers in advertising, illustration, interior design, fashion, art conservation, graphic arts, research, editing, textiles, photography, retail sales, education, and museum administration or curator.
